In Cebu, Bohol and Ormoc, the mission team was warmly received by Rotary Clubs of Cebu led by incoming president Roy Lotzof and Fort San Pedro incoming president Fred Rizon, with the all-out support of their Charter President – Mila Demecillo, and with the Rotary Club of Tagbilaran where PP Angelito Lechago,M.D. and D3860 district governor-elect Perok Rodriguez were present during the meeting last June 23-26, 2011.
The team also appreciates the warm hospitality of the Larrazabal-Yrastorza family who runs the Don Felipe Hotel in Ormoc and Dr. Vivian Chu and son, Dr. Pocholo Chu who are the great navigator of the team around Cebu City, too.
Dr. Yrastorza wishes to conduct the same service opportunity to all these places if given the chance by the locals. A hospital-based year-round patient care program like the Taghoy Clinic in Ormoc run by Dr. Roland Tomaro, the Smile Train and local Rotary clubs is of great help to the indigent children with facial deformities. Also, with the proposed sharing-ownership program, there will be participation of Filipino medical experts providing care to Filipinos, thereby anticipating more children beneficiary and more comprehensive care.
Together, team Taghoy and Rotary can change a life of burdensome debility and grief, to that HOPE and PROMISE, by mending one child….at a time.
